5 Stars great purchase
This is a great product at a great price. Fits well and wazs easy to install on the wall. The price is very cheap compared to the expensive ones in the store.
4 Stars Home Theater PowerCenter
The power strip provides surge protection and cleans the power entering components. Plugs for different components are clearly labeled. The strip does have an overhang over the plugs and connections. For the coax connectors, it is difficult to screw in the fittings. There is very little clearance between the overhang and connectors and the 4 connectors are spaced fairly close. I only had 2 coax connections, 4 would have been very difficult.
5 Stars Good Choice For A Good Price
This product is definately worth the money.
Cleaner power reduces visible noise in television screen images, as well as the hiss you hear coming from your speakers when you have them turned up. Also, every thing connected to this surge protector is insured to over $350,000, an amount likely to cover almost any home entertainment system that any of us non-millionaires can afford.
With that said I do have to criticisms: Firstly, although the bright blue power light is attractive and makes the HTS850 look expensive, it can be a tad on the bright side, lighting up the space behind your t.v. cabinet when you have the lights dimmed. Secondly, other than the plugs on the top and bottom, all of the plugs are located on the right side of the unit, making plugging in all of your devices a bit of a hassle, epsecially if they have large plugs.
Over all it is an excellent product which I would recommend to anyone looking to protect the entertainment investment.
3 Stars Nice product..Blue light??
Nice product..Important to have clean power for Electronics…satisfied with quality…but that blue light on the strip is too bright….well at least it can double as a night light.
5 Stars BEST PRICE AROUND
SEARCHED PRICES AND THE PRICE HERE WAS GREAT.
Needed this for our new TV and DVD player along with the other
components for our TV and surround sound. The prices are out of
control… But AMAZON prices were great!!!

Accenda Surfboard Voice Interactive Smart Universal Remote Control

Surfboard Voice Interactive Universal Remote
Your Remote Control That Speaks & Listens!
The Surfboard Voice Interactive Remote Control makes channel surfing easier than ever.
The Surfboard is easy to set up. The unique Surfboard Help button lets you program your remote without going through the complicated steps of other remote controls. Just press the HELP button and listen as the remote talks you through the automated setup.
This voice activated remote control is easy to use. Just put in four AAA batteries and you’re ready to surf. The Surfboard will listen to your commands. This remote is factory trained to respond to the sound of your voice. Surfboard will respond to common voice commands that make it easy to use right out of the box. Just say any of the built in commands: POWER, CHANNEL UP, CHANNEL DOWN, PREVIOUS, FAVORITE.
Surfboard reinforces remote operation by saying the commands as they are being used. You can easily deactivate for silent operation.
You can customize your remote commands. Surfboard is designed to fit your lifestyle. You can use the built-in voice commands, or you can create your own voice commands. You can also customize your viewing by using the surf function to view your favorite channels quickly and easily.
This remote control is smart. It can learn to control most new electronic components. The SURFBOARDTM features a comprehensive built-in library and it also has a powerful learner for new models that makes it obsolete proof. SURFBOARD also automatically saves your settings even when you change the batteries.
3 Stars When It’s Good, It’s Very Very Good…
I got this remote for my limited-mobility, aged mother. She was having troubles even with the Hy-tek Partner big button remote because she could not point the remote at the TV and press the buttons quick enough to change to a particular channel. With the Surfboard, it worked, most of the time.
The main problem is the voice recognition is “too particular”. When my mother was tired, her commands were said differently and not recognized.
Another limitation is the number of voice commands that the remote will learn: 12. This might be fine to control a TV only, but when trying to control a DVD too, at least 6 of those are taken (switch to DVD, play DVD, stop DVD, fast-forward, rewind, switch to TV). So this limits the ability to switch to a particular channel.
To have the Surfboard listen all the time without draining the batteries, an external adapter is required. I tried to use a generic adapter, but it didn’t work. (I called tech support and they said their adapter had special voltage regulating circuitry that most “generics” do not have.) So I ended up getting another Surfboard remote with the adapter from another vendor and this one will go back to Target. (Amazon/Target should offer the remote with the adapter…)
One other concern is the “bright” blue LED when the room is dark. When it’s bedtime, mother must turn the remote around from her bedside table because “old blue-eye is just too bright”.
5 Stars It works and its ergonomic
I’m mostly bedridden so I spend a lot of time watching TV and using the computer. At one point I was having aches and pains to the point that it was painful to use the remote. I already had a collection of different types, but none with VR, so I got the Surfboard.
The need for VR quickly passed, but I came to appreciate the ergonomic feel of this remote. I switch between this and a Sony universal remote and do not have any more repetitive stress problems
By the way, I found the recharger sold separately to be not worth the bother, because I do not use the sound feature except when reprogramming. Then I turn on the sound and follow the clearly spoken and simple directions.

Australia Plasma and LCD TV Market 2005 2009 Forecast and Analysis Think Thin
This IDC study looks at the Australia market for plasma displays and LCD TVs. The combined plasma and LCD TV market in Australia has evolved to become very competitive, largely due to the heightened competition led by the Korean vendors especially in the plasma market. Consumers’ increased preference for the look and feel of flat TVs as well as the availability of high-quality content are important factors driving the growth of this market.
“In 2004, total plasma shipments accounted for almost 64% of the combined plasma and LCD TV market, while LCD TVs continued to lag behind, with price being the key inhibitor. This market is pegged for strong growth over the 2005–2009 forecast period, and is expected to witness greater competition among the vendors with the entrance of a number of nontraditional TV vendors. LCD TV shipments are expected to surpass plasma display shipments in 2008,” says Sophie Lo, research analyst, Consumer Digital Markets, IDC Australia.
